Stills

A series of short films that highlight cornerstone processes during the construction of an architectural home.

The idea behind this project was to document key aspects of the construction process and share them in 1-minute-long, snippet kind of videos.

The first episode is about sustainability. In this particular case, relocating the preexisting home proved to be much more efficient than demolishing it.

Sustainability

The pre-existing home was sold and moved south to Seattle. This phase of the project was conducted by Nickel Bros. You don’t get to see a house rolling down the street everyday.

Minimalism

Each video covers a different topic in a clear, minimalistic manner, with the message delivered through an interview recorded on site, juxtaposed with the various building trades involved.

Compound problem

Building on peat, a very deep and poorly drained flood plain soil, can make entire homes shift and move. The first phase of the solution to this problem involved the installation of shoring piles and the subsequent drilling of helical piles.

Design process

Placing the audience right in the middle of an active construction site, we attempt to shed light into specific aspects of technical processes.

Immersive

Thoughtful composition, purposeful cinematography and multilayered sound design come together to create immersive films. The on-screen text is simple and concise, with a minimalistic motion design.

Compound problem? Voilà the confident general manager with a good sense of humor.
